2025 Tourism Challenge FAM #1

It’s that time of the year again. The Tourism Challenge is back, and we are offering FAMS to assist you in navigating the attractions in Richmond and collecting stamps in the process:

Spend the day uncovering Richmond’s treasures by exploring stamp locations and other attractions aboard the Richmond Discovery Shuttle. The shuttle service is returning for Summer 2025 providing a free bus to explore Richmond.

The tour begins at the renowned McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport, a popular shopping destination and a stop along the Discovery Shuttle route.

Fun fact: FAM Participants can collect a stamp from here, contributing to the "Other" Tourism Challenge category.

Participation Rules

To qualify for participation in the FAM tours, you must be a Front-Line Employee of a Richmond hotel or a Tourism Richmond stakeholder and possess a valid Tourism Challenge Passport and be actively involved or volunteering in the Tourism Challenge area. As these FAMs are highly sought after, we will be prioritizing attendees who have not attended the 2024 Tourism Challenge FAMs.

We will contact you to confirm your attendance a week before the tour. Additional guests (plus ones) will be placed on a waitlist and can join if space allows. If you wish to bring a plus one, please email Hanyi at [email protected]

Tuesday, May 6 - FAM #1 Itinerary

9:15am: Meet at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport's Caffé Artigiano 

9:30am: Grab a coffee/tea and your Tourism Challenge stamp before departure

Meet Cindy Wang, Tourism Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport and enjoy a walking tour of the Outlet

10:00am: Depart from McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport

**Please note that due to the packed and busy schedule, we will be departing at 10:00am and unfortunately cannot wait for attendees arriving past this time. 

10:10am: Arrive at the Richmond Olympic Oval

10:15am – 10:40am: Visit the Richmond Olympic Experience at the Richmond Oval 

10:45am: Depart

11:00am - 11:40am:  Visit the Richmond Cultural Centre, Museum & Art Gallery

11:40am: Depart

12:00pm: Arrive in Steveston

12:00pm – 12:30pm: Visit Britannia Shipyards NHS

12:30pm – 2:10pm: Explore Steveston

Enjoy Steveston Village at your leisure, visit the Steveston Museum, and more, and complete the Neighborhood Challenge. Please make time to also grab lunch and don’t forget to meet us back at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site at 2:10 PM sharp to receive a tour and your stamp.  

2:40pm: Depart

3:10pm – 3:40pm: Visit Lulu Island Winery

3:40pm – 4:00pm: Drop off at River Rock Casino Resort and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport for those driving
